Netbooks are cheap because they have SUBSTANDARD CPUs, no optical drive, and virtually no memory. Microsoft have to give it a cut-rate version of Windows 7 called starter edition to work.

yes. netbooks have weaker processors, 12 in screens or smaller, less ram (typically) and are primarily used for the browsing the internet (hence the name) laptops tend to be bigger and more powerful then notebooks but the names are interchanged so much that not every one actually distinguishes a difference
