this is a question for tech support. as far as i know that should not be happening. the only thing i can suggest is that you don’t close the lid of the lap top, just keep it on standby. i believe that’s the correct way to do it
just put the lid down, then pull it back up.
try using the keyboard
or don’t do that
Well if it’s a laptop, you should either just lift up the screen and then it’s turned on. But if that doesn’t work, try pressing the power button once when you lift up the screen.
Press the power button, and don’t close the top.
This happens to my dell computer. If you close it and then immediately open it to use, it wont work. It would have to be in standby for a couple minutes before you can open it and resume.
if the case is that when you open it after a couple minutes and it doesn’t resume, press the power button. down hold it to turn it off, simply press it to revive it.
Try pressing the power button briefly
through it out a window
Touch the touch pad and give it a couple moments to respond. The screen should come back on. If not press the power button but don’t hold it in.
just turn it on, and it will automatically be back on to the page it was stood-by!
Unplug it, plug it back in and then start it up again. My computer does the same thing. So I know what to do.
Make sure you let it shut off before you close the lid
1. To come out of standby, you should press the power button or open the lid of your computer.
2. Moving the mouse also helps resuming.
press the power button once.
When I close my lid, it goes on standby and to resume it I just click the on button once and it switches back on. Go to option or something, it might be cause of that, if not then something might be wrong.
you can stop this happening, the setting is in the windows power setting on the control panel. (search google if you need help finding it) you can set what happens when you close the lid/leave the computer for a long time. (i just have mine turn the screen off)
good luck
just hit the on button
I don’t know what model computer you have by Dell, but I had a similar problem with my Dell laptop. I discovered there was an issue with the built-in webcam driver. I rolled back to an older driver and it worked fine. Don’t listen to what most of the people on this forum are saying–they have no idea. There are so many posible problems. As the one person suggested, get technical support.
I’ve got a Dell as well and that’s what happens. Their implementation of the standby feature is rubbish. Tried all ways around it but there’s nothing that seems to work like you’d expect.
press any key on the key bord and also u can press the power botton and don’t hold it in
When you close the lid on your laptop and it goes on stnad-by, all you have to do is to press the power button once (don’t hold it or it turns it off) and wait for it to load up.
This is a common set-up for laptops and if you want to change it, I can help you!
All you have to do is open the Start menu, click on Control Pannel, and once that loads click on Hardware and Sound. If your control pannel is set to show in classic view, then just double click on power options. In the power options, you can change what your laptop does when you close the lid. Choose the option Do Nothing and your screen will just go blank when you close the lid and when you open the lid again your computer will be exactly the way you left it without the stand-by mode.
Warning: If your laptop is not plugged in, it will drain your battery because it is still on.
just press the power button without holding it
You can always perform a system restore or perform recovery system. If you have windows vista you just press F11 and just follows the steps on the computer.
