To protect your laptop a little bit more and also it might be more compact and just have room for the things you just need foryour laptop but overall protection is key
thats a good question, and you should use a backpack, i was just on a trip to europe, and since i cant wear a briefcase on my back i set it down to get my luggage and forgot to pick it back up, and it cost me 300 dollars to get it mailed to me.
go for the backpack you already have
a laptop case is safer to carry your latop in as you can strap it in there and it doesn;t mvoe around. laptop hard drives are more fragile than regular desktop hard drives so they can break easier due to drops and shocks and vibrations.
u probably shouldn’t have to buy a bag if your backpack can hold all the supplies and will protect it.
It should to prepare special bag for notebook as it would cover it from any damages. There are a lot of kind of bags in several shops, and it is better to choose the bag with the same size of notebook.

backpacks are fine as long as the laptop won’t get “beat up”. if there is something that you could buckle the laptop in so it wouldn’t move or get banged around.
