I got the 75 like you. It fits my EX1 with plenty of room. I don’t have a matte box on mine. The straps are nice to hold the camera, and the lens pillow is very cool too. I’m eventually going to get the trolley. I have another KATA bag that is smaller, so with the trolley I can wheel the 2 bags around very nicely.

I got one of these bags! It’s frickin’ awesome. I am trying to make a video for the contest too. I have until the 31st now. I noticed that I can only find like 3 videos for the contest – yours, some skate dude’s, and a guy with a crazy giant RED camera. I thought there would be lots since the prize is so cool.

Wow. Just checked out the EX1R. I had no idea it even existed. It looks like a great camera. This video is actually for a Kata Bags Contest. The prize is a Sony EX1. I use my sony handycam that a friend gave to me a few years back. Its not the best but I am getting good use out of it. I really want to make quality films and know that the EX1 would be a big help. I think the VX2100 is an awesome little camera. I got the Greg Winter audio mod that bypasses the internal preamps for totally hiss free audio. I also had Greg mod my Sound Devices MixPre so I could put it between the cam and the tripod (150.00). But I hardly use that any more. It’s all about the EX1 now. But dang it – now 2 months after getting the EX1 they come out with the EX1R for a little less money, and a lot of improvements – if you are in the market for EX1 check out the EX1R!
Hey thanks for checking it out! To answer your question…..Yes! Kata Built this bag with Sony EX1 in mind. There are four different sizes which you could find out about on the Kata Website. I own the second to largest bag which can fit a Sony EX1 with matte box, mini light, and and external mic all attached. The bag is designed so if you film most things on your own all you should need as far as camera and accessories will fit in this bag….How do you like your VX2100?
Cool vid man! You have “Sony EX1″ in your tags. Will this bag work with an EX1? I have another KATA bag I used with my VX2100, but it’s a tad tight with my EX1, so this bag looks sweet. I dig the lights you added, and I like the 2 velcro pockets that can open/close. Thanks.
