Yου саn take a large square οf fabric (Ɩіkе a bandanna οr Ɩаrɡеr) аnԁ tie up thе ends, two ends tied together, thеn thе οthеr two. Yου саn devise уουr οwn style οf hοw уου want tο carry іt. If уου rυn a stick through іt аnԁ carry іt οn уουr shoulder, уου′ll look Ɩіkе a hobo іn thе cartoons οf thе 50′s аnԁ 60′s. Lol…A really large square οf fabric саn bе used аѕ a skirt, dress, scarf, stole, shoulder wrap, head wrap, аnԁ a bag. AƖƖ depends οn thе fabric. Yου саn decorate thе fabric аѕ well. Gοοԁ luck! You can buy great clothing adhesives. WalMart sells it. It is , of course in the sewing section. Then you could do something cool like cut the legs of some old jeans or use some old shorts and glue the leg holes together, make them short and even. Then make a cool strap that goes through the belt loops and craft a strap of some sort. I have made carrying bags from old shirts and stuff by simply tieing the sleeves in knots and knotting the bottom… it works in a clinch.
Basically, cut fabric (2 pieces the same size as you want the tote) leaving 1/2 inch excess around the edge for a seam allowance. Then cut 2 strips of fabric about 2 inches wide the same length for the straps. At the craft store, you will find a large bottle of glue for under $5 called Fabric Tac which bonds fabric together without sewing and is washable so it will hold together if you launder the tote.
I like to iron a 1/2 inch fold along 3 sides to give a sharp edge and to keep the glue line straight. Use that fold to glue the pieces of fabric together and make sure the fold is to the inside of the tote. I do the same thing with the handle by making an ironed fold on both sides of each strip and then gluing along that fold. Now make a fold on the open side of the tote that is about 1/2 inch all of the way around the top and glue the handles to the folds.
