I doubt weak magnets wіƖƖ ԁο anything tο уουr laptop. Hοwеνеr, іf уου аrе feeling nervous, thеn ɡеt a laptop case οr stick іt іn a backpack.

There is a good chance it may damage the laptop if the magnetic field is strong enough, also it depends on the make up of your hard drive, most hard drives may have some magnetic field and any interference from another magnetic field may cause loss of files or damage to the laptop. say for example i read a few stories online of guys/ gals losing files on their laptops when going through an airport scanner.
so best bet is to watch and see if you notice anything unusual about your pc. or just simply not using a magnetic flapped messener bag for your Laptop may be your best bet. better to have all your files than to lost them or better yet lose your laptop entirely
The magnet used in bags of that nature are VERY WEAK and usually have a small metal plate that they are attracted to along with the fabric in between, which means less, if any, energy going through to your laptop.
I work with magnets for a living, some of which are no bigger than an ipod and just as slim that can hold a phone book to your fridge. I get my earphones stuck directly to them all the time as well as my cell phone and mp3. Have yet to have a problem. So unless your magnet is in direct contact with your laptop, I wouldn’t worry about it.
