Mу sister hаѕ a laptop computer аnԁ rіɡht now іtѕ hooked up tο cable internet connection. Shе wουƖԁ Ɩіkе tο ɡеt out οf having thе wire hooked up tο hеr laptop аnԁ ɡο tο a wireless cable connection. Whаt wουƖԁ ѕhе need tο bυу tο ԁο thіѕ? Please ехрƖаіn thіѕ tο mе ѕο thаt I саn tеƖƖ hеr.

1. She needs to buy a wireless router – that costs about $50 now.
2. Check to see if her laptop is equiiped with a built in wireless internet connection card – if not, she can buy one. Probably about the same price as a router, I’m not sure.
Any computer store will be able to help her.
She’ll need a wireless router to connect her modem through. And for the laptop, she’ll need a wireless PCMCIA card or wireless USB adapter, preferably from the same manufacturer as the router. If it’s a recent laptop it may already have an inbuilt wireless card in it.
Buy wireless cable router device ex: Linksis or other. Hook it up to your cable.If your laptop does not have wifi capability, buy wifi pcmcia card or usb. Both easy to setup & install.
